Mental health is a crucial aspect of overall well-being and should be given the same attention and importance as physical health. Mental health not only affects productivity and performance in personal life but also allows people to live a fulfilling and satisfying life. It enables them to engage in daily activities, maintain relationships, and pursue their interests and goals.

Nibedita Mental Health Centre of CWFD had been providing health care services for a very long time in Banasree area. Eventually with time, CWFD realized the need of a mental health service as clients were requesting for mental health counselling services. As a result of client’s requests CWFD initiated an online helpline service. Gradually, the requests for an offline service began to arise and to keep up with the rising demand for a face-to-face service CWFD launched Nibedita Mental Health Centre, first Mental Health Center in Banasree area. Psychological Counseling is one of the newest editions to CWFD’s health services where services are provided by experts in the field of psychology.

The center was inaugurated in 2021 and till now significant number of sessions have been taken by our clients. Our counseling services are provided by expert counselors. Each session lasting for 50-60 minutes.

  • Adult Counselling: Adult counseling is crucial in helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and achieve personal growth. Counseling provides a safe and confidential space for adults to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with the guidance of a trained professional. Counseling helps adults to address their specific issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and relationship problems. With the support of a counselor, individuals can learn how to manage these challenges and move towards a more fulfilling life which will lead to improved relationships, increased self-esteem, and a greater sense of purpose and fulfillment.
  • Adolescent Counselling: Adolescent counselling is important as it helps young people navigate the challenges of adolescence and develop into healthy, well-adjusted adults. During adolescence, individuals are faced with a range of physical, emotional, and social changes, which can be overwhelming and challenging to navigate. Counselling provides adolescents with a safe and confidential space to explore their thoughts and feelings, develop coping skills, and improve their self-esteem. This can be particularly important for those who are experiencing issues such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, relationship problems, or academic stress. Additionally. counselling provides support for adolescents dealing with trauma or difficult life events, helping them to process their experiences and move forward in a healthy way.
  • Child Developmental and Behavioral services: Child developmental and behavioral services are essential for identifying and addressing developmental delays, learning disabilities, and behavioral issues in children. Early detection and intervention help to improve outcomes for children and helps them to reach their full potential. Child developmental and behavioral services include a range of assessments, interventions. and therapies designed to identify and address developmental and behavioral issues in children. Through these services, children will develop important skills and abilities, such as communication, socialization, self-regulation, and problem-solving. In addition. child developmental and behavioral services will provide support and guidance for parents. helping them to understand their child’s needs and learn effective strategies for managing their child’s behavior and development.
  • IQ Tests (Children): IQ (intelligence quotient) testing for children is an important tool for assessing a child’s cognitive abilities and identifying their areas of strengths and weaknesses. IQ tests provide a standardized measure of intelligence, allowing parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals to better understand a child’s learning potential and tailor educational and developmental support accordingly. IQ testing helps to identify children who may benefit from special education services, gifted programs, or individualized learning plans. It also helps to identify children who may have learning difficulties or other cognitive challenges, such as ADHD, dyslexia, or autism.
