Objective/Goal: To address protection, sexual and reproductive health needs of women, adolescents’, transgenders, pregnant women and persons with disabilities affected by flash floods in the northern-eastern districts

Major Activities

  • Lifesaving information and life skills lessons for adolescent girls in women and girls Friendly space/Safe space
  • Provision of Menta Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) to affected adolescent girls
  • Life skills training and livelihood support to affected adolescent girl vulnerable to child marriage through local women led organizations
  • Awareness raising session with adolescent boys and girls

Livelihood and Lifesaving Information Sessions for Vulnerable Adolescent Girls by the Grassroots Level WLO:

A total of 09 Women Led Organizations in Sylhet, Sunamganj, and Netrokona provided livelihood and life skills sessions to 726 adolescent girls who are vulnerable to child marriage. Beneficiaries received training on Block-boutique, poultry rearing, sewing, nakshi kantha, hand bag making, homestead gardening, goat rearing, livestock management, block printing, hand printing, horticulture nursery, showpiece making, etc. Additionally, they were provided with various life-skill training on SRHR, MHM, GBV, and Disaster Risk Reduction during those sessions.

Awareness Raising Sessions with Adolescent Boys and Girls on SRHR in DRR:

Awareness raising sessions were conducted with 1,500 adolescent girls and 1,500 adolescent boys between 15-31 January 2023 in Sylhet, Sunamganj, and Netrokona. There were 100 Youth Volunteers (50% female) in each district who led those sessions. A total of 1,498 adolescent girls and 1,494 adolescent boys participated in the sessions.
